Tell me, what's your name?

A college student needed a small two-hour course to fill his schedule and the only one available was wildlife Zoology. So he joined in and after one week of study, a test was held. The professor passed out a sheet of small paper where in each square was a carefully drawn picture of a bird's legs. No bodies, no feet, just legs.


The test asked each student to identify the birds from their legs. Our student sat and stared at the test getting angrier every minute. Finally he stomped up to the front of the classroom and threw the test on the teacher's desk. "This is the worst test I have ever written."

The teacher looked up and said: "Young man, you have not filled in anything and you definitely have failed the test. Tell me, what's your name?"

The student pulled up his pant to the knee showing his legs and said, "You tell me..."

Keep your garbage to yourself...!!

This is a message I had received long back... and wanted to keep it in my treasure box, in this case my blog. This is not my story, but some great personnel's story (can't remember the name at the moment). Hope it inspires you.

One day I hopped in a Taxi and we took off for the Airport. We were driving in the right lane when suddenly a black car jumped out of a parking space right in front of us.

My taxi driver slammed on his brakes, skidded, and missed the other car by just inches! The driver of the other car whipped his head around and started yelling at us. My taxi driver just smiled and waved at the guy. And I mean, he was really friendly. So I asked, 'Why did you just do that? This guy almost ruined your car and sent us to the hospital!' This is when my Taxi driver taught me what I now call, 'The Law of the Garbage Truck'

Reality of our Country

Pumpkin in a Jug

This is Earl Nightingale's, "Pumpkin in a jug."

In the fall when the leaves are turning, a chill is in the air and roadside merchants offer fall apples, squash and pumpkins, I am reminded of the farmer who was walking through his pumpkin patch early in the growing season, and while walking near the road that ran by his farm, he found a one-gallon glass jug that some motorist had tossed into his field. He stood looking at the jug for a few moments, and then, for no particularly good reason, he poked a small pumpkin into the jug without damaging the vine.

Later when the pumpkins were full grown and were being picked and stacked, he came across the jug again, this time completely filled with the pumpkin he'd poked inside. The pumpkin had filled the jug completely, and had stopped growing; it was the size and shape of the jug. The farmer took that pumpkin in the jug home and put it on his front porch as a curiosity.

A few days later his son and his wife came to the farm for dinner. They examined the pumpkin in the jug, and after looking at it in silence for a while, the son asked if he could take it to the local college where he taught psychology. "Sure, take it," his father said. "But what are you going to do with it?"

"I'm going to show it to my class and remind them that, that's what happens to things that get poked into pre-determined spaces. That pumpkin never got the chance to reach its full growth, whatever that might have been, because it had been poked into pre-determined limits. Someone had decided what the shape and size of that pumpkin was going to be, and it didn't have any choice in the matter. I want my students to learn a lesson from that pumpkin in a jug. We cannot outgrow the limitations we place on ourselves, or the limits determined by other if we go along with them, so I want them to understand that if they find themselves, as adults, living in cramped circumstances in their work or any other way, it was they who did the poking - it's their responsibility. That pumpkin is a good argument for the importance of education."

Neither the farmer nor his wife had looked at the pumpkin in the jug in just that way, but they thought it could provide a good example. And it did. After the story got out just about every student in the university came to take a look at it and retell the story the young assistant professor had told. And I suppose most of them realized then that if we wind up in spaces too small, if we don't grow to our full stature, it's because we made the decision to stop and not grow any further - if was our decision. It was because we poked ourselves into a space.

People are responsible for their own lives. If they have the power to limit their growth in someway, they also have the power to break through those limitations and grow again.

It takes courage to chart our own courses and choose the higher plateaus of achievement and reward.

When your Management decides to Screw You...

Once PVNR (PV Narasimha Rao), L.K.Advani and Laloo Prasad Yadav were travelling in an autorickshaw. They met with an accident and all three of them died.

Yama Raja was waiting for this moment at the doorstep of death.

He asks PVNR and Advani to go to HEAVEN.

But, for Laloo, Yama had already decided that he should be sent to HELL.

Laloo is not at all happy with this decision.

He asks Yama as to why this discrimination is being made. All the three of them had served the public. Similarly, all took bribes, all misused public positions, etc.

Then why the differential treatment?

He felt that there should be a formal test or an objective evaluation before a decision is made; and should not be just based on opinion or pre-conceived notions.

What is Love?

In a classroom there were several kids, when one of them asked the teacher:

- Teacher, what is LOVE ?

The teacher felt the kid deserved the best answer she could give to that intelligent question. Since it was almost time for a break, she asked every student to go around the school and come back with something that would bring the feeling of love.

The kids rushed out the classroom, and when they came back the teacher said:

- So, I want everybody to show what you brought to the whole class.

The first kid said:

- I brought this FLOWER, isn't it beautiful ?

The second kid said:

- I brought this BUTTERFLY. Look at these colorful wings, I am gonna put it in my collection !

The third kid said:

- I brought this YOUNG BIRD. It had fallen with another one from the nest. Isn't it cute ?

And the kids were showing what they brought.

After almost everybody had showed their discoveries, the teacher noticed that there was a kid who had been quiet all the time. She was ashamed because she had not brought anything.The teacher went to her and asked:

- My dear, why haven't you brought anything ?

She then answered in an innocent voice:

- I am sorry teacher. I saw the FLOWER, and felt its perfume. I was going to take it, but I preffered to leave it so its perfume would last longer and others could feel it. I also saw the BUTTERFLY, soft, colorful..she seemed so happy that I did not want to disturb it. I also saw the YOUNG BIRD that had fallen between the leafs, but as I climbed the tree, I noticed the sad look of it's mother, so I decided to return it to the nest. Therefore, I only bring with me: the perfume of the flower, the feeling of liberty of the butterfly and the gratefulness of the look of the little bird's mother. How can I show you what I brought?

The teacher thanked the young kid and gave her an A, because she was the only one that realized that we can only bring LOVE in our hearts.

Excellence leads to Perfection

Here I share an important story of my life, which influences me a lot every time I recollect it to proceed in my life everyday ...

A man once visited a temple under construction where he saw a sculptor making an idol of God. Suddenly he noticed a similar idol lying nearby. Surprised, he asked the sculptor, "Do you need two statues of the same idol?"

"No," said the sculptor without looking up, "We need only one, but the first one got damaged at the last stage."

The gentleman examined the idol and found no apparent damage. "Where is the damage?" he asked.

"There is a scratch on the nose of the idol." said the sculptor, still busy with his work.

"Where are you going to install the idol?" The sculptor replied that it would be installed on a pillar twenty feet high.

"If the idol is that far, who is going to know that there is a scratch on the nose?" the gentleman asked.

The sculptor stopped his work, looked up at the gentleman, smiled and said, "I will know it."

The desire to excel is exclusive of the fact whether someone else appreciates it or not. "Excellence" is a drive from inside, not outside.

Excellence is not for someone else to notice but for your own satisfaction and excellence.

Now, I realise why Aamir is called as a Perfectionist... You can surely find out every bit of perfection in his movies. He is my fav. actor. Rather he is an artist in every sense.

A Love Story

There was once this guy who was very much in love with his girl. This romantic guy folded 1,000 pieces of paper cranes as a gift to his girl. Although, at that time he was just a small fry in his company and his future didn't seem too bright, they were very happy together. Until one day, his girl told him she was going to Paris and will never come back. She also told him that she could not visualize any future for the two of them, so they went their own ways there and then... Heartbroken, the guy agreed. But when he regained his confidence, he worked hard day and night, slogging his body and mind just to make something out of himself.

Don't be Over-excited

A new vacuum cleaner salesman knocked on the door on the first house of the street. A tall lady answered the door.

Before she could speak, the enthusiastic salesman barged into the living room and opened a big black plastic bag and poured all the cow droppings onto the carpet.

"Madam, if I could not clean this up with the use of this new powerful Vacuum cleaner, I will EAT all this s**t!" exclaimed the eager salesman.

"Do you need chilly sauce or ketchup with that" asked the lady.

The bewildered salesman asked, "Why, madam?"

"There's no electricity in the house..." said the lady.

MORAL: Gather all resources before working on any project and committing to the client...!!!

Delighted Father - Poor Groom

Everyone in the wedding ceremony was watching the radiant bride as her father escorted her down the aisle to give away to the groom. They reached the altar and the waiting groom; the bride kissed her father and placed some thing in his hand. Everyone in the room was wondering what was given to the father by the bride.

The father could feel the suspense in the air and all eyes were on him to divulge the secret and say something. So he announced "Ladies and Gentlemen today is the luckiest day of my life." Then he raised his hands with what his daughter gave him and continued, "My daughter finally, finally returned my credit card to me."

The whole audience including the priest erupted in laughter .......... all except the poor Groom!

The Guardian Angel

A Man was walking down a street when he heard a voice from behind, "If you take one more step, a brick will fall down on your head and kill you." The man stopped and a big brick fell right in front of him.. The man was astonished.

He went on, and after a while he was going to cross the road. Once again the voice shouted, "Stop! Stand still! If you take one more step a car will run over you, and you will die." The man did as he was instructed, just as a car came careening around the corner, barely missing him.

Why are you shouting like this..'.
