STRoke

STROKE: Remember The 1st Three Letters... S.T.R. ...

My friend sent this to me and encouraged me to post it and spread the word. I agree. If everyone can remember something this simple, we could save some folks.

STROKE IDENTIFICATION: During a party, a friend stumbled and took a little fall - she assured everyone that she was fine and just tripped over a brick because of her new shoes. (they offered to call ambulance)They got her cleaned up and got her a new plate of food - while she appeared a bit shaken up, Ingrid went about enjoying herself the rest of the evening. Ingrid's husband called later telling everyone that his wife had been taken to the hospital - (at 6:00pm , Ingrid passed away.) She had suffered a stroke at the party . Had they known how to identify the signs of a stroke, perhaps Ingrid would be with us today. Some don't die. They end up in a helpless, hopeless condition instead. It only takes a minute to read this...

STROKE IDENTIFICATION: A neurologist says that if he can get to a stroke victim within 3 hours he can totally reverse the effects of a stroke...totally. He said the trick was getting a stroke recognized, diagnosed, and then getting the patient medically cared for within 3 hours, which is tough.

RECOGNIZING A STROKE: Remember the '3' steps, STR. Read and Learn!Sometimes symptoms of a stroke are difficult to identify. Unfortunately, the lack of awareness spells disaster. The stroke victim may suffer severe brain damage when people nearby fail to recognize the symptoms of a stroke.

Now doctors say a bystander can recognize a stroke by asking three simple questions:
S * Ask the individual to SMILE...
T * = TALK... Ask the person to SPEAK A SIMPLE SENTENCE (Coherently) (eg 'It is sunny out today').
R * Ask him or her to RAISE BOTH ARMS...

If he or she has trouble with ANY ONE of these tasks, call the ambulance and describe the symptoms to the dispatcher.

NOTE : Another 'sign' of a stroke is 1. Ask the person to 'stick' out their tongue. 2. If the tongue is 'crooked', if it goes to one side or the other that is also an indication of a stroke. A prominent cardiologist says if everyone who gets this e-mail sends it to 10 people; you can bet that at least one life will be saved. And it could be your own.

Life as I see it - by Chetan Bhagat

Following is the speech by Chetan Bhagat given at the orientation programme for the new batch of MBA students at Symbiosis, Pune.

Good Morning everyone and thank you for giving me this chance to speak to you. This day is about you. You, who have come to this college, leaving the comfort of your homes (or in some cases discomfort), to become something in your life. I am sure you are excited. There are few days in human life when one is truly elated.  The first day in college is one of them.  When you were getting ready today, you felt a tingling in your stomach. What would the auditorium be like, what would the teachers be like, who are my new classmates – there is so much to be curious about. I call this excitement, the spark within you that makes you feel truly alive today. Today I am going to talk about keeping the spark shining. Or to put it another way, how to be happy most, if not all the time.

Just like marriage...

Nasrudin spent the entire autumn working his garden. The flowers had blossomed in the spring - and Nasrudin noticed a few dandelions appearing, which he hadn't planted.

Nasrudin tore them up. But the pollen had already spread and others began to grow. He tried to find a weed killer which only killed dandelions. A specialist told him any type of poison would end up killing all the other flowers. In despair, he went to ask a gardener for help.

"It is like a marriage" said the gardener. "Along with the good things, a few little inconveniences always appear."

"What can I do?" insisted Nasrudin.

"Learn how to love them. Although they are flowers you did not count on, they are still part of the garden."

Self Appraisal

A BEAUTIFUL STORY

A little boy went to a telephone booth which was at the cash counter of a store and dialed a number.
The store-owner was in earshot and could listen to the conversation:

Boy : "Lady, Can you give me the job of cutting your lawn?"
Woman : (at the other end of the phone line) "I already have someone to cut my lawn."
Boy : "Lady, I will cut your lawn for half the price than the person who cuts your lawn now."
Woman : "I'm very satisfied with the person who is presently cutting my lawn."
Boy : (with more perseverance) "Lady, I'll even sweep the floor and the stairs of your house for free."
Woman : "No, thank you."

With a smile on his face, the little boy replaced the receiver. The store-owner, smiled, walked over to the boy.

Store Owner : "Son... I like your attitude; I like that positive spirit and would like to offer you a job."
Boy : "No thanks,"
Store Owner : "But you were really pleading for one."
Boy : "No Sir, I was just checking my performance at the job I already have. I am the one who is working for that lady I was talking to!"

This is called... .........................."Self Appraisal"

Rescue at sea

I have a friend during Toastmasters journey - Mr. Ajit Dembla. He always posts beautiful stories in Google Buzz and I always add those stories to this blog. When I feel like reading my past blogs, I go through some of those and they gave me real joy. Here's one of those stories. Enjoy.

Years ago, in a small fishing village, a volunteer rescue team was formed to help in cases of emergency. One night the winds raged, the clouds burst and a gale force storm capsized a fishing boat at sea. Stranded and in trouble, the crew sent out an S.O.S. The captain of the rescue rowboat team sounded the alarm and the villagers assembled in the town square overlooking the bay. While the team fought their way through the wild waves, the villagers waited restlessly, holding lanterns to light the way back.

An hour later, the rescue boat reappeared and the cheering villagers ran to greet them. Falling exhausted on the sand, the volunteers reported that the rescue boat could not hold any more passengers and they had to leave one man behind. Even one more passenger would have capsized the rescue boat and all would have been lost.

Frantically, the captain called for another volunteer team to go after the lone survivor. Sixteen-year-old Hans stepped forward. His mother grabbed his arm, pleading, "Please don’t go. Your father died in a shipwreck 10 years ago and your older brother, Paul, has been lost at sea for three weeks. Hans, you are all I have left."

World's Shortest Fairy Tale

Once upon a time, a guy asked a girl "Will you marry me?"

The girl said "No."

And both of them lived happily ever after...
The guy went fishing and hunting and drank beer whenever he wanted... ...
The girl went shopping and ate at wherever she wanted and enjoyed life... ...

S/W Engineers...

I got this from a friend's wall in FB... It made me laugh... Nice one to start my morning

Child: Who are that man & woman who come every night and disappear in the morning.
Grand Mother: Thank God! Finally you saw them. They are your parents; both are 'S/W Engineers'.

Woman Work - by Maya Angelou

Read one more poem from Maya Angelou and I have fallen in love with it... I have shared it here.

Read few other poems and I must say, I am in love with each and every word she uses in her poems and the powerful feelings emerge throw the sentences like waves of the ocean in a full moon.

I am sure you would love it too... (No offense if you don't like)

Woman Work

President Barack Obama presenting Angelou with the
Presidential Medal of Freedom,
2011
I've got the children to tend
The clothes to mend
The floor to mop
The food to shop
Then the chicken to fry
The baby to dry
I got company to feed
The garden to weed
I've got shirts to press
The tots to dress
The can to be cut
I gotta clean up this hut
Then see about the sick
And the cotton to pick.

Shine on me, sunshine
Rain on me, rain
Fall softly, dewdrops
And cool my brow again.

Storm, blow me from here
With your fiercest wind
Let me float across the sky
'Til I can rest again.

Fall gently, snowflakes
Cover me with white
Cold icy kisses and
Let me rest tonight.

Sun, rain, curving sky
Mountain, oceans, leaf and stone
Star shine, moon glow
You're all that I can call my own.

What a woman should...? - in Maya Angelou's words

MAYA ANGELOU
I received this poem in an e-mail from my sister today... Loved it... here I Shared it...

(Don't know the Title of the poem at the moment)

A WOMAN SHOULD HAVE ...
enough money within her control to move out
and rent a place of her own,
even if she never wants to or needs to...
something perfect to wear if the employer,
or date of her dreams wants to see her in an hour...

A WOMAN SHOULD HAVE ...
a youth she's content to leave behind....
a past juicy enough that she's looking forward to
re-telling it in her old age....
a set of screwdrivers, a cordless drill...
one friend who always makes her laugh.... and one who lets her cry..

A WOMAN SHOULD HAVE ...
a good piece of furniture not previously owned by anyone else in her family...
eight matching plates, wine glasses with stems, and a recipe for a meal,
that will make her guests feel honored...

A WOMAN SHOULD HAVE …
a feeling of control over her destiny...
how to fall in love without losing herself...

EVERY WOMAN SHOULD KNOW...
how to quit a job,
break up with a lover,
and confront a friend without;
ruining the friendship....

EVERY WOMAN SHOULD KNOW....
when to try harder…and WHEN TO WALK AWAY...

EVERY WOMAN SHOULD KNOW...
that she can't change the length of her calves.
the width of her hips, or the nature of her parents..
that her childhood may not have been perfect...but it's over...

EVERY WOMAN SHOULD KNOW...
what she would and wouldn't do for love or more....
how to live alone... even if she doesn't like it...

EVERY WOMAN SHOULD KNOW..
whom she can trust, whom she can't,
and why she shouldn't take it personally....

EVERY WOMAN SHOULD KNOW...
where to go...
be it to her best friend's kitchen table.
or a charming Inn in the woods....
when her soul needs soothing...

EVERY WOMAN SHOULD KNOW...
What she can and can't accomplish in a day...
a month...and a year...

...women are helpless until their nail polish dries

Boy: Boys are stronger then girls.

Girl: Oh! Please, can you carry a 7 pound baby in your stomach for 9 months? Can you cook, clean and talk on the phone at the same time? Can you burn your forehead with a curling iron and not complain? Can you walk all day in 5 inch heels? Can you cry all night then wake up the next morning like everything is okay?? Remember guys, woman are only helpless until their nail polish dries :)

You have two choices...

Jerry is the manager of a restaurant. He is always in a good mood.

When someone would ask him how he was doing, he would always reply:
"If I were any better, I would be twins!"

Many of the waiters at his restaurant quit their jobs when he changed jobs, so they could follow him around from restaurant to restaurant.

Why?

When Lion goes to U.S.?

In a poor zoo of India , a lion was frustrated as he was offered not more than 1 kg meat a day.

The lion thought its prayers were answered when one U.S. Zoo Manager visited the zoo and requested the zoo management to shift the lion to the U.S. Zoo.

The lion was so happy and started thinking of a central A/C environment, a goat or two every day and a U.S. Green Card also. On its first day after arrival, the lion was offered a big bag, sealed very nicely for breakfast.

The lion opened it quickly but was shocked to see that it contained few bananas. Then the lion thought that may be they cared too much for him as they were worried about his stomach as he had recently shifted from India .

The next day the same thing happened. On the third day again the same food bag of bananas was delivered.

The lion was so furious, it stopped the delivery boy and blasted at him, "Don't you know I am the Lion... king of the Jungle..., what's wrong with your management? what nonsense is this? why are you delivering bananas to me?"

The delivery boy politely said, "Sir, I know you are the king of the jungle but... Did you know that you have been brought here on a monkey's visa !!!!!

Moral of Story: Better to be a Lion in India than a Monkey elsewhere !!!

How to detect Hidden Camera and 2-Way Mirror?

HOW TO DETECT HIDDEN CAMERA IN A TRIAL ROOM?

In front of the trial room take your mobile and make sure that mobile can make calls.
Then enter into the trail room, take your mobile and make a call.
If u can't make a call...; then there is a hidden camera.
This is due to the interference of fiber optic cable during the signal transfer.

Pinhole Cameras in Changing Rooms of Big Bazaar, Shoppers Stop?
Yes it's very much possible.

HOW TO DETECT A 2-WAY MIRROR?

When we visit toilets, bathrooms, hotel rooms, changing rooms, etc., how many of you know for sure that the seemingly ordinary mirror hanging on the wall is a real mirror, or actually a 2-way mirror.

10 things to learn from people of Japan

March 2011 - The Tsunami destroyed many cities of Japan. The Nuclear reactors were blast. There was loss of people, animals, property... Still the people of Japan cooperated and faced it well. We should learn from the people of Japan and should teach it to our childrens.

1. THE CALM - Not a single visual of chest-beating or wild grief. Sorrow itself has been elevated.
2. THE DIGNITY - Disciplined queues for water and groceries. Not a rough word or a crude gesture.
3. THE ABILITY - The incredible architects, for instance. Buildings swayed but didn’t fall.
4. THE GRACE - People bought only what they needed for the present, so everybody could get something.
5. THE ORDER - No looting in shops. No honking and no overtaking on the roads. Just understanding.
6. THE SACRIFICE - Fifty workers stayed back to pump sea water in the N-reactors.
7. THE TENDERNESS - Restaurants cut prices. An unguarded ATM is left alone. The strong cared for the weak.
8. THE TRAINING - The old and the children, everyone knew exactly what to do. And they did just that.
9. THE MEDIA - They showed magnificent restraint in the bulletins. No silly reporters. Only calm reportage.
10. THE CONSCIENCE - When the power went off in a store, people put things back on the shelves & left quietly.

The 2 wishes... #Hilarious

A man walks into a restaurant with a full-grown ostrich behind him, and as he sits down, the waitress comes over and asks for their order.

The man says, "I'll have a hamburger, fries and a coke," and turns to the ostrich. "What's yours?" "I'll have the same," says the ostrich.

A short time later the waitress returns with the order. "That will be $6.40 please," and the man reaches into his pocket and pulls out exact change for payment.

The next day, the man and the ostrich come again and the man says, "I'll have a hamburger, fries and a coke," and the ostrich says, "I'll have the same." Once again the man reaches into his pocket and pays with exact change.

Friendship is not about...

Friendship is not about "I M sorry" !
Its about "sab Teri Galti Thi" (It's all your fault)

Friendship is not about "i missed U"
Its about "kaha Mar gya tha Tu Itne Din" (were you dead for these past few days?)

Friendship is not about "i understand"
Itz about "Hamesha mai hi kyo samjhu?" (why it has to be me to always understand everything?)

Friendship is not about "I M hapy 4 ur success"
Its about "treat Kaun dega bey ";) (so.. when r u giving the treat?)

Friendship is not about "R u coming with us tomorrow"
Its about "bhaav mat kha aur chup chap saath mein chal" (Don't show me the attitude, shut up and come with me)

Friendship is not about "Just readng dis message".
Its about "sending it to all ur friends whom u never wanna lose"

Why Love is blind?

Once all the feelings decided to play hide and seek.

Pain started counting and all others were hiding.
Lie said it will hide near tree, but didn’t do that!
Love hides in a rose bush.
Everyone hide in different places.
Everyone was caught except love.
But Anger gave clue about love.
So pain jumped on the bush and dragged it out.
Because of thorns in the bush, love lost its both eyes and hence God cursed pain and it was ordered to be with love forever.

Till today, love is blind and pain always accompanies it!!

Love

I once had a friend who grew to be very close to me. Once when we were sitting at the edge of a swimming pool, she filled the palm of her hand with some water and held it before me, and said this: "You see this water contained in my hand? It symbolizes Love.

This was how I saw it: As long as you keep your hand caringly open and allow it to remain there, it will always be there. However, if you attempt to close your fingers around it and try to possess it, it will spill through the first crack it finds. This is the greatest mistake that people do when they meet love ... they try to possess it, they demand, they expect ... And just like the water spilling out of your hand, love will retract from you. For love is meant to be free, you cannot change its nature. If there are people you love, allow them to be free beings.

Diljale - Sona Mohapatra

Teri yaad main ye dil ye dil ye diljale hai yaar...

On the feet thinking

A man walked into the produce section of a local supermarket and asked to buy a half head of lettuce. The boy working in that department told him that they only sold whole heads of lettuce. The man was insistent that the boy ask his manager about the matter.

Walking into the back room, the boy said to the manager: "Some asshole wants to buy a half head of lettuce."

The manager was looking behind the boy, so the boy turned around to see the man standing right behind him. So he quickly added: "And this gentleman kindly offered to buy the other half."

Chetan Bhagat’s Article in TOI for Indian Women

Chetan Bhagat’s Article in today’s Times Of India: Specially for Indian Women…  Do Read it girls…

“Alright, this is not cool at all. A recent survey by Nielsen has revealed that Indian women are the most stressed out in the world: 87% of our women feel stressed out most of the time. This statistic alone has caused me to stress out. Even in workaholic America, only 53% women feel stressed.

What are we doing to our women? I'm biased, but Indian women are the most beautiful in the world. As mothers, sisters, daughters, colleagues, wives and girlfriends - we love them. Can you imagine life without the ladies?

For now, i want to give Indian women five suggestions to reduce their stress levels.

One, don't ever think you are without power. Give it back to that mother-in-law. Be who you are, not someone she wished you would be. She doesn't like you? That's her problem.

Pull, Buddy, Pull

An out-of-towner drove his car into a ditch in a desolated area. Luckily, a local farmer came to help with his big strong horse named Buddy.

He hitched Buddy up to the car and yelled, "Pull, Nellie, pull!" Buddy didn't move.

Then the farmer hollered, "Pull, Buster, pull!" Buddy didn't respond.

Once more the farmer commanded, "Pull, Coco, pull!" Nothing.

Then the farmer nonchalantly said, "Pull, Buddy, pull!" And the horse easily dragged the car out of the ditch.

The motorist was most appreciative and very curious. He asked the farmer why he called his horse by the wrong name three times.

"Well... Buddy is blind and if he thought he was the only one pulling, he wouldn't even try!"

Why do children climb up slides?

If you have ever spent much time at a playground you’ve seen that small children love to slide down slides, and that they also love to climb up them. Playground slides are not designed to climb. They are steep and slippery, and have no hand holds. And that is precisely the attraction for little ones -- the challenge.

We’re all born with the desire to seek out and overcome challenges. For the better part of human history, it’s what has kept people alive. And it has led to a steadily continuing increase in our standard of living.

If you don’t like the weather, then change it

If you don’t like the weather, then change it…

You can do whatever you want today.

You can walk out the door into a cold, dreary day that makes you want to go back to bed. Or you can step out into a crisp, invigorating day that puts a little extra bounce in your step. It doesn't matter what the weather report says, what matters is you.

Are you smarter than a 5th grade?

Are you smarter than a 5th grade?

Transition - Beautiful to Cute

My husband was just coming out of anesthesia after a series of tests in the hospital, and I was sitting at his bedside. His eyes fluttered open, and he murmured, "You're beautiful."

Flattered, I continued my vigil while he drifted back to sleep. Later he woke up and said, "You're cute."

"What happened to 'beautiful'?" I asked him.

"The drugs are wearing off," he replied.

Does God exist?

A man went to a barbershop to have his hair cut and his beard trimmed. As the barber began to work, they began to have a good conversation. They talked about so many things and various subjects. When they eventually touched on the subject of God, the barber said: “I don’t believe that God exists.” “Why do you say that?”asked the customer.

Burnt Biscuits

When I was a kid, my Mom liked to make breakfast food for dinner every now and then. And I remember one night in particular when she had made breakfast food after a long, hard day at work. On that evening, my Mom
placed a plate of eggs, sausage and extremely burned biscuits in front of my dad. I remember waiting to see if anyone noticed! Yet all my dad did was reach for his biscuit, smile at my Mom and ask me how my day was at
school. I don't remember what I told him that night, but I do remember watching him smear butter and jelly on that  biscuit and eat every bite !

Smart Parrot!!

A cruise ship hired a magician to entertain the passengers. Since the passengers changed every four or five days, the magician was able to perform the same tricks over and over.

Unfortunately, the Captain of the ship had a parrot who sat around and watched the magician perform his tricks, over and over. Eventually, the parrot learned how the tricks were done and would interrupt the act.

"It's in his sleeve" the parrot would say. "He switched balls." "It's in his pocket." Etc., etc. Naturally, the magician was quite disturbed by the parrot but could do nothing about it, since it belonged to the Captain.

Unfortunately, the cruise ship had the misfortune of hitting an iceberg and sank to the bottom of the sea in a matter of minutes. As fate would have it, the magician and the parrot managed to grab hold of the same floating piece of furniture. For 3 days, neither said anything. The magician stared at the parrot and the parrot stared back. Finally, on the 4th day, the parrot cracked and said:

"OK, I give up, where on Earth did you put the ship?"

Do you have a problem?

Here's the answer/solution to it...
Just as Brian Tracy says, "You have a problem? What you gonna do about it?"

Illiterate mother /

My illiterate mother
is actually not illiterate.
During a conversation
She could always read
My father’s face
and assuming some tension
which could lead to some contention,
she could alter the direction of the
conversation.
Judging the time, place and person,
She could redirect everything
to a beautiful note.

दर्द होने पर
हल्दी के साथ दूध पिला
पूरे देह का पीड़ा को
मार देती है
और नज़र लगने पर
सरसों के तेल में
रूई की बाती भिगो
नज़र भी उतार देती है

If in pain, her concoction of
milk & turmeric would kill
all the pain,
a cotton wick soaked in
the mustard oil, she could
save you from all evil eyes.

The fragrance of her incense
would keep the whole house
fragrant, day & night.
Without doing any hard work,
the whole family would sleep
tired at night.
She, working the whole day,
thinking about the family wouldn’t
get a good night’s sleep.

True, no mother is illiterate.
They are clever,
because even after
accumulating many degrees,
a daughter has to learn from
her mother,
how to run a family?

No easy way to the top

No easy way to the top…

When you choose to drive, you have to accept traffic jams. When you choose to be health conscious, you have to forego being tongue conscious. With income will come income tax.

Anything you choose in life comes along with its own inherent positives and negatives. What folly it is to search for a rose bush without the thorns! When you choose one face of the coin, you have also chosen the other side of the coin. Don’t ask for a trouble-free, blessed life. Not even the mahatmas could embrace a trouble-free blessed life. There is no such life.

Jennifer Lopez - On The Floor ft. Pitbull

[Pitbull]
J-LO!

[Jennifer Lopez]
It's a new generation
of party people

Get on the floor (dale)
RedOne

[Jennifer Lopez]
Let me introduce you to my party people
In the club... huh!

[Pitbull]
I'm loose(loose)
And everybody knows I get off the train
Baby it's the truth
I'm like Inception
I play with your brain
So don't sleep or snooze
I don't play no games so don't-don't-don't get it confused no
Cause you will lose yeah
Now pu-pu-pu-pu-pump it up
And back it up like a Tonka truck
Dale!

[Jennifer Lopez]
If you go hard you gotta get on the floor
If you're a party freak then step on the floor
If your an animal then tear up the floor
Break a sweat on the floor
Yeah we work on the floor
Don't stop keep it moving
Put your drinks up
Pick your body up and drop it on the floor
Let the rhythm change your world on the floor
You know we're running shit tonight on the floor
Brazil, Morocco,
London to Ibiza,
Straight to LA, New York,
Vegas to Africa

[Chorus]
Dance the night away
Live your life and stay young on the floor
Dance the night away
Grab somebody, drink a little more
Lalalalalalalalalalalalalala
Tonight we gon' be it on the floor
Lalalalalalalalalalalalalala

[ From: http://www.metrolyrics.com/on-the-floor-lyrics-jennifer-lopez.html ]

Tonight we gon' be it on the floor

[Verse 2]
I know you got it
Clap your hands on the floor
And keep on rockin'
Rock it up on the floor
If you're a criminal, kill it on the floor
Steal it quick on the floor, on the floor
Don't stop keep it moving
Put your drinks up
Its getting ill
It's getting sick on the floor
We never quit, we never rest on the floor
If I ain't rolling, probably die on the floor
Brazil, Morocco,
London to Ibiza,
Straight to LA, New York,
Vegas to Africa

[Chorus]
Dance the night away,
Live your life and stay young on the floor
Dance the night way,
Grab somebody drink a little more
Lalalalalalalalalalalalalala
Tonight we gon' be it on the floor
Lalalalalalalalalalalalalala
Tonight we gon' be it on the floor

[Pibull]
That badonka donk is like a trunk full of bass on an old school Chevy
Seven tray donkey donk
All I need is some vodka and some chunka coke
And watch her, she gon' get donkey konged
Baby if you're ready for things to get heavy
I get on the floor and act a fool if you let me
Dale
Don't believe me just bet me
My name ain't Keath but I see why you Sweat me
L.A. Miami New York
Say no more get on the floor

Lalalalalalalalalalalalalala
Tonight we gon' be it on the floor
Lalalalalalalalalalalalalala
Tonight we gon' be it on the floor
Lalalalalalalalalalalalalala
Tonight we gon' be it on the floor

Bahara (chill version) - I Hate Love Story

The most romantic song ever in the most romantic voice... I have fallen in love with this song. The most melodious voice of that dominate the other singers in Bollywood are Rahat Fateh Ali Khan and Shreya Ghosal. And this song sound so amazing in their voices. Sona Mahapatra's folk voice acts as desert after the food. Not only this all the songs of the movie are just cool and take to you an emotional level of yours. Bin Tere is another favorite song of mine... It reminds me of some of the past moments... Vishal-Shekhar have done a wonderful job in with the music and songs of this movie. Beautiful use of the guitar music in the Bin Tere song. Loving the voices of Sunidhi Chauhan and Shafqat Amanat Ali in song. The remix makes me dance. All the singers have done great job in this movie.

Hoo tora saajan
Aayo tore desh

Badli badra badla saavan
Badla jag ne bhes re
Tora saajan
Aayo tore desh

Neende Neende rehti hai aaj kal
Bas uske hi khaabon ke libaas mein
Jaane kab tham gaye yeh kadam
Ek uske ke hi ghar ke paas mein

Raasta, bhoola mein apna raasta
Bahara bahara
Hua dil pehli baar vee
Bahara bahara
Ki chain toh hua faraar vee
Bahara bahara
Hua dil pehli pehli baar vee

Woh..
Jo labz the bandhe hue
Labhon pe khul gaye
Main…
Use mila to rang se
The mujh mein ghul gaye kuch is kadar
Mujh mein mai rab hoon kidhar
Main hoon kidhar kya bataoon
Sirf usko hai pata

Bahara bahara
Hua dil pehli baar vee
Bahara bahara
Ki chain to hua faraar vee
Bahara bahara
Hua dil pehli pehli baar vee

Bahara bahara
Hua dil pehli baar vee
Bahara bahara
Ki chain to hua faraar vee
Bahara bahara
Hua dil pehli pehli baar vee

Hoo tora saajan
Aayo tore desh

Badli badra badla saavan
Badla jag ne bhes re
Tora saajan
Aayo tore desh

Neende Neende rehti hai aaj kal
Bas uske hi khaabon ke libaas mein
Jaane kab tham gaye yeh kadam
Ek uske ke hi ghar ke paas mein

Raasta, bhoola mein apna raasta
Bahara bahara
Hua dil pehli baar vee
Bahara bahara
Ki chain toh hua faraar vee
Bahara bahara
Hua dil pehli pehli baar vee

CELINE DION - My heart will go on Remix

This remix version is my favourite which I keep singing and listening to continuously.

Every night in my dreams
I see you, I feel you
That is how I know you go on

Far across the distance
And spaces between us
You have come to show you go on

Near, far, wherever you are
I believe that the heart does go on
Once more you open the door
And you're here in my heart
And my heart will go on and on

Love can touch us one time
And last for a lifetime
And never let go till we're gone

Love was when I loved you
One true time I hold to
In my life we'll always go on

Near, far, wherever you are
I believe that the heart does go on
Once more you open the door
And you're here in my heart
And my heart will go on and on

You're here, there's nothing I fear
And I know that my heart will go on
We'll stay forever this way
You are safe in my heart
And my heart will go on and on

Celine Dion: My Heart Will Go On (HD)

Céline Dion - That's The Way It Is

I can read your mind and I know your story
I see what you're going through
It's an uphill climb, and I'm feeling sorry
But I know it will come to you

Don't surrender 'cause you can win
In this thing called love

When you want it the most there's no easy way out
When you're ready to go and your heart's left in doubt
Don't give up on your faith
Love comes to those who believe it
And that's the way it is

When you question me for a simple answer
I don't know what to say, no
But it's plain to see, if you stick together
You're gonna find a way, yeah

So don't surrender 'cause you can win
In this thing called love

When you want it the most there's no easy way out
When you're ready to go and your heart's left in doubt
Don't give up on your faith
Love comes to those who believe it
And that's the way it is

When life is empty with no tomorrow
And loneliness starts to call
Baby, don't worry, forget your sorrow
'Cause love's gonna conquer it all, all

When you want it the most there's no easy way out
When you're ready to go and your heart's left in doubt
Don't give up on your faith
Love comes to those who believe it
And that's the way it is

When you want it the most there's no easy way out
When you're ready to go and your heart's left in doubt
Don't give up on your faith
Love comes to those who believe it
And that's the way it is

That's the way it is
That's the way it is, babe
Don't give up on your faith
Love comes to those who believe it
And that's the way it is.

Celine Dion - I'm Alive (HD)

What a powerful song is this... The vedio is not so impressive though...

Céline Dion - A New Day Has Come

I love this song very much...

A new day has...come

I was waiting for so long
For a miracle to come
Everyone told me to be strong
Hold on and don't shed a tear

Through the darkness and good times
I knew I'd make it through
And the world thought I had it all
But I was waiting for you

Hush, now

I see a light in the sky
Oh, it's almost blinding me
I can't believe
I've been touched by an angel with love

Let the rain come down and wash away my tears
Let it fill my soul and drown my fears
Let it shatter the walls for a new sun
A new day has...come  oh

Where it was dark now there's light
Where there was pain now there's joy
Where there was weakness, I found my strength
All in the eyes of a boy

Hush, now

I see a light in the sky
Oh, it's almost blinding me
I can't believe
I've been touched by an angel with love

Let the rain come down and wash away my tears
Let it fill my soul and drown my fears
Let it shatter the walls for a new sun
A new day has...

Let the rain come down and wash away my tears
Let it fill my soul and drown my fears
Let it shatter the walls for a new sun
A new day has... come oh

Hush, now
Well I see a light in your eyes
All in the eyes of the boy
I can't believe
If I've been touched by an angel with love
I can't believe
If I've been touched by an angel with love

hush, now
(ahh, ahh)
A new day
(ahh, ahh)
hush, now
(ahh, ahh)
A new day

Some cause happiness...

Some cause happiness
           wherever they go;
                      others, whenever they go.

~ OSCAR WILDE

I have fallen but...

Having courage
           does not mean
                      that we are unafraid.

Having courage
           and showing courage
                      mean we face our fears.

We are able to say,
           "I have fallen,
                      but I will get up".

Tide in small ropes

Huge creatures like elephants are held by only a small rope tied to their front leg. No chains, no cages. It is obvious that the elephants could, at anytime, break away from the ropes they are tied to but for some reason, they do not.

A trainer explains why these beautiful, magnificent animals just stood there and made no attempt to get away.

“Well,” he says , “when they are very young and much smaller we use the same size rope to tie them and, at that age, it’s enough to hold them. As they grow up, they are conditioned to believe they cannot break away. They believe the rope can still hold them, so they never try to break free.”

These animals could at any time break free from their bonds but because they believed they couldn’t, they were stuck right where they were.

Like the elephants, how many of us go through life hanging onto a belief that we cannot do something, simply because we failed at it once before?

Money is Yours But Resources Belong To The Society

Germany is a highly industrialised country. It produces top brands like Benz, BMW, Siemens, SAP etc. The nuclear reactor pump is made in a small town in this country.

In such a country, many will think its people lead a luxurious life. At least that was my impression before my study trip. When I arrived at Hamburg, my colleagues who work in Hamburg arranged a welcome party for me in a restaurant.

As we walked into the restaurant, we noticed that a lot of tables were empty. There was a table where a young couple was having their meal. There were only two dishes and two cans of beer on the table. I wondered if such simple meal could be romantic, and whether the girl will leave this stingy guy. There were a few old ladies on another table. When a dish is served, the waiter would distribute the food for them, and they would finish every bit of the food on their plates.

We did not pay much attention to them, as we were looking forward to the dishes we ordered. As we were hungry, our local colleague ordered more food for us. As the restaurant was quiet, the food came quite fast. Since there were other activities arranged for us, we did not spend much time dining. When we left, there was still about one third of unconsumed food on the table.

When we were leaving the restaurant, we heard someone calling us. We noticed the old ladies in the restaurant were talking about us to the restaurant owner. When they spoke to us in English, we understood that they were unhappy about us wasting so much food. We immediately felt that they were really being too busybody. "We paid for our food, it is none of your business how much food we left behind," my colleague Gui told the old ladies.

The old ladies were furious. One of them immediately took her hand phone out and made a call to someone. After a while, a man in uniform claimed to be an officer from the Social Security organization arrived. Upon knowing what the dispute was, he issued us a 50 Mark fine. We all kept quiet. The local colleague took out a 50 Mark note and repeatedly apologized to the officer.

The officer told us in a stern voice, “ORDER WHAT YOU CAN CONSUME, MONEY IS YOURS BUT RESOURCES BELONG TO THE SOCIETY. THERE ARE MANY OTHERS IN THE WORLD WHO ARE FACING SHORTAGE OF RESOURCES. YOU HAVE NO REASON TO WASTE RESOURCES.

Our face turned red. We all agreed with him in our hearts. The mindset of people of this rich country put all of us to shame. WE REALLY NEED TO REFLECT ON THIS. We are from country which is not very rich in resources. To save face, we order large quantity and also waste food when we give others a treat. THIS LESSON TAUGHT US A LESSON TO THINK SERIOUSLY ABOUT CHANGING OUR BAD HABITS.

My colleague photostatted the fine ticket and gave a copy to each of us as a souvenir. All of us kept it and pasted on our wall to remind us that we shall never be wasteful.

Ideas Exchange...

Lovely, can't stop staring at this

Lesson from a Failed Experiment

This is a story about a famous research scientist who had made several very important medical breakthroughs. He was being interviewed by a newspaper reporter who asked him why he thought he was able to be so much more creative than the average person. What set him so far apart from others ?

He responded that, in his opinion, it all came from an experience with his mother that occurred when he was about two years old. He had been trying to remove a bottle of milk from the refrigerator when he lost his grip on the slippery bottle and it fell, spilling its contents all over the kitchen floor — a veritable sea of milk !

When his mother came into the kitchen, instead of yelling at him, giving him a lecture, or punishing him, she said, “Robert, I have rarely seen such a huge puddle of milk. Well, the damage has already been done. Would you like to get down and play in the milk for a few minutes before we clean it up ?” Indeed, he did. After a few minutes, his mother said, “You know, Robert, whenever you make a mess like this, eventually you have to clean it up and restore everything to its proper order. So, how would you like to do that ? We could use a sponge, a towel, or a mop. Which do you prefer ?” He chose the sponge and together they cleaned up the spilled milk.

His mother then said, “You know, what we have here is a failed experiment in how to effectively carry a big milk bottle with two tiny hands. Let’s go out in the back yard and fill the bottle with water and see if you can discover a way to carry it without dropping it.” The little boy learned that if he grasped the bottle at the top near the lip with both hands, he could carry it without dropping it.

What a wonderful lesson ! This renowned scientist then remarked that it was at that moment that he knew he didn’t need to be afraid to make mistakes. Instead, he learned that mistakes were just opportunities for learning something new, which is, after all, what scientific experiments are all about.

Well, I don't know the name of the Scientist. However, I like the lesson, and the way of dealing with kids.

Why walk when you can fly!

Feb 1 Murali Basati: Why walk when you can fly!"

Once there was a king who received a gift of two magnificent falcons from Arabia. They were peregrine falcons, the most beautiful birds he had ever seen. He gave the precious birds to his head falconer to be trained. Months passed and one day the head falconer informed the king that though one of the falcons was flying majestically, soaring high in the sky, the other bird had not moved from its branch since the day it had arrived.

The king summoned healers and sorcerers from all the land to tend to the falcon, but no one could make the bird fly. He presented the task to the member of his court, but the next day, the king saw through the palace window that the bird had still not moved from its perch.

Having tried everything else, the king thought to himself, "May be I need someone more familiar with the countryside to understand the nature of this problem."

So he cried out to his court, "Go and get a farmer."

In the morning, the king was thrilled to see the falcon soaring high above the palace gardens. He said to his court, "Bring me the doer of this miracle."

The court quickly located the farmer, who came and stood before the king. The king asked him, "How did you make the falcon fly?"

With his head bowed, the farmer said to the king, " It was very easy, your highness. I simply cut the branch where the bird was sitting."

We are all made to fly -- to realize our incredible potential as human beings. But at times we sit on our branches, clinging to the things that are familiar to us. The possibilities are endless, but for most of us, they
remain undiscovered. We conform to the familiar, the comfortable, the mundane. So for the most part, our lives are mediocre instead of "exciting, thrilling and fulfilling."

So let us learn to destroy the branch of fear we cling to and free ourselves to the glory of flight.

What do you want to be?

PENCIL: I'm sorry because you get hurt because of me. Whenever I made a mistake, you're always there to erase it. But as you do that, you lose a part of yourself.

ERASER: That's true. But I don't really mind. I was made to help you whenever you do something wrong. Even though I'll be gone and you'll replace me with a new one, I hate seeing you sad dear.

......so what you want to be ?

ICC Cricket World Cup and Wife

A man had two of the best tickets for the World Cup Final. As he sits down, another man comes along and asks if anyone is sitting in the seat next to him.

"No", he says, "the seat belongs to me but it is empty.."

"This is incredible!" said the man, "who in their right mind would have a seat like this for the World Cup Final, the biggest sporting event of the year, and not use it?"

He says, "Well, actually, my wife was supposed to come with me, but she passed away. This is the first Cup Final we haven't been to together since we got married."

"Oh... I'm sorry to hear that. That's terrible. I guess you couldn't find someone else, a friend or relative or even a neighbour to take the seat?"

The man shakes his head... "No. They're all at the funeral."

My Favourite Song - 01

I am huge fan of Anuradha Paudwal. Her voice is melodious and is so soothing, that I feel very happy to listen to her songs. If I am in angry / sad mood all I need is listen some of my favourite singers. Also, it has the music by the ever green Nadeem-Shravan. I love all their compositions. There are other songs of this movie which are again all time favourite of mine.
Here's one from her songs, that I sang in D's annual awards function and won the prize too.

Movie Name : Dil hai ki manta nahin
Song Title : Dil hai ki manta nahin
Singers : Anuradha Paudwal, Kumar Sanu
Lyricist :

Dil hai ki manta nahin
Muskil badi hai
rasme mohabbat
Yeh janta hi nahin

Ho... Dil hai ke manta nahin
Dil hai ke manta nahin
Yeh Bekarari Kyon ho rahi hai
Yeh janta nahin

Ho, dil hai ke manta nahin
Dil hai ki manta nahin

Dil to yeh chaahe
har pal tumhe hum
Bas yunhi dekha kare;
Marke bhi hum na
tumse judaa ho
Aao kuch aisa karen;
Mujhe mein sama jaa
aa paas aa ja
Humdum mere humnasheen

Dil hai ki manta nahin (2)

Teri wafayee
teri mohabbat
Sab kuch
hai mere liye;
Tune diya hai
nazaraana dil ka
Hum to hai tere liye;
Yeh baat such hai,
Sab jaante hai,
Tumko bhi hai yeh yakeen.

Dil hai ki manta nahin(2)

Mushkil Badi hai rasme mohabbat
Yeh janta hi nahin

Ho, Dil hai ke manta nahin
Dil hai ke maata nahin
